Loving Books Are RED [Stacking The Shelves #5]

16 March 2015

*Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme created by Tynga's Reviews, where you share books you've recently added to your TBR (physical or digital)

Hey there, Mischievous Readers! So a weeks days ago I went to a book sale near my former college, and I thought I was gonna get a couple of great books from there. But sucks for me, because last day sales usually don't have great books anymore... otherwise, you're real lucky to come across popular titles or books that you actually want to purchase and read.

But of course, that still didn't stop me from buying books. Although, the book prices were not discounted.... You guys, I can hear my wallet crying now.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Fun fact! So I got home to take these babies out from the bag and I suddenly realize, they're all black and red. And no, it was not intentional but purely coincidental!

Suspense/Thriller is a genre I want to explore more on, after having read a few that actually made my heart pound. The Gone Girl movie is something I plan to watch soon too, just after I read the book.

The Night Circus is just stunning. I wish the store had it in hardcover, I would have purchased that instead.

How I found The Manifesto on How to Be Interesting was actually very interesting (LOL). I was browsing the shelves and found it hidden behind a stack of books, as if someone deliberately placed it there to hide it. Call me mean because I picked it up and immediately paid for it. (To the person who hid the book: If you're reading this post, sarreh.)

And Me Before You seems like the perfect book for a good cry... according to the reviews, that is.

The next time I try to go into a book store, somebody better stop me, because I'm broke as crap, and the rest of the books I've bought since are still collecting dust on my bookshelves. Woopty-doo.

****

I'm pretty much in a review slump as of now, so a book haul post is just perfect for blog content.

Ever read these books? What do you guys think about them?

  1. Loving the haul! Got the same cover of Gone Girl too. I actually wanted the other edition but that's the only one available. Btw, you're a fan of Melissa de la Cruz?

    1. Thanks, Danna! I'm not a fan of Melissa de la Cruz, but I have her Blue Bloods series, only up to book 4 but I honestly don't remember much from the series because I didn't really enjoy it.

    2. I've read The Ring and the Crown and her most recent series Frozen: Heart of Dread. Not a fan of her writing style.

  2. Congrats on all the great books! The only one I have read is Night Circus, which I loved. I think it is great that you had a theme of sorts going on and didn't even realize it!

  4. I really want to read "The Night Circus", planning to read it soon(of course once I am done with books on my TBR...that will be long I guess..phew!!) Read "Me Before You", but I found it really depressing. Its good but sad. Read about "The Manifesto On How To Be Interesting" (thanks for the link for goodreads!!), I think it should be good, so it goes to my TBR!!
