#InCaseYouMissedIt: My January Shindigs

01 February 2015

Time sure goes by so fast! It's as if it was just New Years' a few days ago, and now it's February!

Not exactly sure if time is on fast forward, but I wasn't really able to do much in the past month, when it comes to blogging. But I sure did get to read a lot... I just hadn't felt like writing reviews for most of them.

So, here's another #InCaseYouMissedIt post about every random thing I ever did last month... or maybe just a few. Let's get started!

GOODREADS CHALLENGE

Last year, I wasn't able to complete my original 2014 Goodreads Challenge goal of 200 books. I originally talked about this in my Reader Problems Tag post. I had panicked so much, for some reason, and I couldn't concentrate on writing reviews and other stuff just because I put too much pressure on myself. So, to save myself from going loco, I reverted my challenge goal to 190 books.

However, I feel really bad for now even bothering because I had forgotten that it's all about having fun, and reading out of passion and for leisure, not because it's an obligation.

So, this year. I'm not about to make the same mistake I did. I've set up my 2015 Goodreads Challenge to 100 books, and have read 14 books so far, although I won't be reviewing all the books, except for the ones that I surely have something to talk about.

NEW YEAR! NEW LOOK!

Okay, so I guess I'm not really late with the New Year, New Look thing, since it's just February, but YES! I've finally remodelled my blog! It's just too bad that I wasn't able to take a screenshot for a before and after photo, but mehhh, I'm really loving the simplicity on my blog and the new header! I had a hard time trying to find an object of some sort to incorporate with mischievous and I picked up a cat, instead. (I love kitties! And doggies! Basically both)

And a massive thanks to XOMisse for all tutorials on her blog that I used in fixing up my blog and to Tika for being my "html tutorial" search buddy!

I've also added a Grab by Button box below. Just scroll down, you won't miss it. *winkie*

THE BOOKISH GROUPIES

Along with Tika, Mallory, Ang and Jennie, a couple of blogger girls that I made really good friends with (Just too bad they live soooo far away), we've created a small group called The Bookish Groupies! Sounds funny, I know, because I thought of the name. It all started with a couple of read alongs together with discussions and random moments with each other, that we've decided to make it official!

Fairly recently, we started our first ever Co-Review featuring The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, and I love how it turned out. As of now, we're working on a couple of monthly events for us and the blogging community to participate in, and we've got something in store for you all for this Love Month, and that's what my next post is going to be about!

Reviews in the Past Month

One Night of Sin, One Night of Scandal and One Night of Trouble (After Hours Series 1-3) by Elle Kennedy
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater - The Bookish Groupies Co-Review
Zodiac by Romina Russell

So basically, that's almost all the stuff I've done in the past month. Nothing majorly special except for my blog remodel and The Bookish Groupies.

Looking forward to a way more awesome month with you all!

Love,

  2. Why the hell don't I do wrap ups? See this is why we're friends, because when one doesn't think of something, the other does lol. I WILL have monthly wrap ups from now on though. I must say I'm digging this new design, so glad that you made the switch, and thanks for the shout out! You know I be finding them tutorials girl lmao. The fact that you read 14 books already is truly stressing me out lmao. Like seriously! I smell a discussion post coming soon :)
