I'm Broke But Still... [Stacking The Shelves #6]

24 April 2015

*Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme created by Tynga's Reviews, where you share books you've recently added to your TBR (physical or digital)

Hey there, Mischievous Readers!

I've been away for quite some time because of some family matters and my grandma had been in the hospital for a couple of days too, but she's doing pretty well now, and I'm back to blogging. However, I'm—ONCE AGAIN—in a terrible review and book slump. I've tried writing my reviews during my mini hiatus, but I've ran out of creative juice, soooo, I thought I'd just share the books I got in the past few weeks.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Confess by Colleen Hoover
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Since Outlander is the craze now with the TV show and all, and because Ang of Ang Reads recommended this book to me ages ago, when I saw it in stores, I immediately grabbed the paperback copy and felt so smug, like "yes, I'm about to read this thick helluva book", heh.

I've got Confess both on eBook and paperback now, because a couple of weeks ago, my boo Tika of Fangirl Confessions bought me an ebook copy of Confess as a gift. (THANK YOUUUU ♥♥♥) But I knew I still had to get a physical copy of Confess because the pictures of the paintings featured in the book are just too gorgeous! What's funny is that I had picked up Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas prior to seeing Confess on the shelves and when I laid my eyes on it, I had to return Throne of Glass because my budget wasn't exactly book shopping friendly that day.

And of course, how can I pass up the other two gorgeous books, Anna and the French Kiss and Red Queen, which were both just bought on a whim when I was just supposed to be shopping for calligraphy pens. Well, what can you do?

I've only read Anna and the French Kiss from the pile and just finished a few days ago, but I'm itching to get my hands on the others.

Have you guys read any of these books? Let me know your thoughts! A heads up would be much appreciated! *winky*

  1. Loved Outlander, and I think it took me about 3 months to finish it! I'm currently on book 3. I borrowed the audio of Anna and the French Kiss from the library and still need to get to it. Great selections, Blessie. Happy reading!

  3. Lovely haul! This reminds me I should get reading Outlander. I told myself I would before the series continued back when it got into hiatus but I didn't find the time and I'm not watching the new episodes because of that. And glad to hear your grandma is feeling better :)

  5. * cough * where's Game of Thrones * cough * lmao. Since we're tackling GOT together, we might as well read Outlander together as well! Girl I'm getting my hands on a physical copy of Confess, the illustrations are just too beautiful not to! You know how I feel about Anna, but maybe when I'm in the mood for something cute and fluffy, we can continue to read the rest of the books. Lord, we have so many books we're buddy reading, how in the hell are we going to manage girl lmao

  6. I am so not looking forward to Outlander, though if I enjoy this time travel historical romance that I'm currently listening to, I may not have such an issue with that one! Let me know hw you like Red Queen (duh you will) because so many mixed reviews! I'm super excited for Confess, too. Might have to purchase me a paperback copy, too :D

    1. If I end up liking Outlander, then you might too. Haha! I'm suddenly kind of wary of Red Queen because of the mixed reviews, but I'm still going for it.

  9. LOL I giggled at your title, buying books can be an addiction, I agree. I liked Confess more than Red Queen - hope to hear your thoughts on them soon :) Anna and The French kiss is a cute, fluffy romance but it wasn't for me though.. Maybe you might like it?
